MIDTOWN HOUSTON

History in Midtown

Midtown sits between Downtown Houston and the Museum District and is one of the city’s most walkable inner-loop neighborhoods. Restaurants, bars, apartments, and the METRORail Red Line along Main Street keep the district busy day and night, and its blocks mix new development with buildings that date back nearly a century. One of DealCo’s Midtown properties, 3000 Caroline, is a 1920s Mediterranean-style building in an often-overlooked corner of the neighborhood. It was built for Jenning’s Cleaners and Dyeing Shoppe, which operated there until 2004, and today it is home to 13 Celsius, a wine bar.

The Midtown Vibe

Midtown is one of Houston’s liveliest neighborhoods after dark and one of its most convenient during the day. Bagby Street and the blocks around Midtown Park are lined with restaurants, bars, and patios, and new multifamily buildings keep bringing residents into the district. With the METRORail Red Line, quick access to I-45 and I-69, and Downtown, the Museum District, and the Texas Medical Center a short trip away, Midtown offers a central location with real neighborhood character.
